This is just a small desk that the 12x12 album fits perfectly on when opened.
Pretty much everything I need to put the album together throughout the year is right here on this little table.
This is the Cobalt core kit from Becky Higgins Project Life. It has all of the cute filler and journal cards in it that I will need to fill the album. (You can see all of the products on her website.)
This is a super cute fabric bin I got at Target. I will throw things in it throughout the week that I want to add to the album. It also has some chipboard letters in it right now. Plus the paper cutter sits on top of it.
The the cute plastic bins are from Target too. The top one has a variety of colored pens and markers in it. The bottom one has a corner chomped, date stamp, and a few other little things I might need.
And this is why I am sooooo excited to start Project Life this year! I can add the little notes from Hunter or ticket stubs or receipts or any other little paper stuff that I couldn't put in my digital books, but yet everything I need to put it together is right here. I don't need an entire craft room to scrapbook!
So why did I switch and is the switch for good? I put together a list of pros & cons to digital vs. traditional scrapbooking.
The pros and cons are pretty equal for me. But, I was getting bored with the digital scrapbooking and with Hunter being 5 now and writing little notes and bringing home school papers, I wanted a way to include that in the book. Becky Higgins simple approach to scrapbooking gave me the confidence to try the traditional route this year. I figure if I only do a traditional book every 5 or 10 years I won't be making so many huge books my kids won't have a place or desire to keep around when they are older and they will be special. This is Brian & I's 10th year of marriage and we moved recently so I thought it was a good time to try this out. I have considered just going the traditional route on school books and sticking to digital for the yearly albums. But for now, I'm doing Project Life for 2012 and I'm super excited about it!
*Also the project life products went digital this year. So if I decide to do digital next year I can keep using these super cute products!
