I decided to join Ali Edwards in documenting "A Day in the Life" of our family. Since I am going digital this year and printing to a Shutterfly book, I can't do an "insert". So instead, I dedicated the right page to the Day in the Life and the left page is of our whole week. I think I had a harder time getting everything to flow because of this so I am not sure I will continue to do it this way. Ali Edwards suggested doing A Day in the Life once a month, the last day of the month and I like the idea but I may document it differently each month. I think one month I will just do a video of our day like I did last year. We'll see how it goes.
Since I was condensing our week into one page this week I made the title card the week in review card also. I also added a couple of QR codes to videos.
For the right page, I used all photos from Jan. 31st and did a schedule of what our day looked like. I didn't really have a lot of other info to include because it was just a normal day, nothing too exciting. Sometimes I have a hard time thinking about average ordinary things to document that may be interesting to us in the years ahead.
One thing that was fun about this page is the top left photo of my daughter. For Christmas, Grandma got her several princess dresses, shoes and accessories. She also got a tea set. (Can we say spoiled? :) She loves dressing up in each of the outfits and having a tea party. After seeing a tutorial on making a composite photograph, I had the idea to do this photo of my daughter in four different princess dresses to make it look like she was having a tea party with all of the 'princesses'. It turned out really cute and I love it.
I used a lot of different items on my pages this week but you should be able to find all of them on my Pinterest board. And of course I am mainly using the Project Life Clementine Edition.

I love the yellow background paper. Adorable photos! Such a cute age.
ReplyDeleteLove the composite photo! And here I thought she had some friends over for a tea party! :) Great pages!
ReplyDeleteI love the composite photo too! What a cool idea! I also like how you incorporated the QR codes. I've been wanting to do that, but I'm lazy about uploading video. :)
ReplyDeleteFor Day in the Life, you could do a separate layout for it each month. I included a few "traditional" scrapbook pages in my Project Life photobook last year (mostly of birthday parties), so you could try that. The different sized inserts are the one thing that entices me to switch to page protectors, but I just love photobooks too much! :)
Great pages with nice warm colors. Yikes on the hole in the wall! Good to document those things too. Absolutely love that composite photo. Great idea to make it like a tea party with all the princesses. I bet she loves it too. I've been wanting to take more video and really need to try to get at least a clip or two each month. I'm awful about that.
ReplyDeleteAwesome pages! Love the colors!
ReplyDeleteI am totally loving the composite photo idea! So fun!!
ReplyDeleteGreat layouts! That composite photo is AWESOME! I will definitely have to try that with my daughter sometime.
ReplyDeleteThat composite photo is AMAZING. You should frame it and hang it in her room. Really looks like a fantastic tea party.
