Project Life | Week 8

This week I was very short on photos and videos but still had enough photos to finish this spread and tell the story of this week. I have come to the conclusion that while I am working on current pages I get frustrated and don't like them so much, not sure why. Then when I look back on them later, I am satisfied with them and think they look just fine. So I am going to continue just getting the pages finished and not stress over the 'look' of it. Because what really matters is that my kids can look back on our life at this time. I would like to get better at taking a variety of photos. Seems like the photos are always of the kids and they are always looking at the camera. I would like to put more effort into a variety of pictures for the rest of the year. I just love their cute little faces an don't ever want to forget what they look like at this age.

Anyway, here are my pages using mostly the Clementine kit and a variety of brushes, plus a few little extras. You can see most of the products/freebies I use on my Pinterest page. Let me know if you have any questions about anything I used. Thanks for looking!

One really neat photo I had for this week was a picture my husband's mom sent of my hubby when he was little. When I saw it, I immediately thought of the photos I took of my son for his last birthday. The bottom left photo is my husband's pic side by side with my son's picture 25 years difference. I love it. They don't look identical but you can see the similarities and the fact that they are wearing the exact same thing blows me away too. Two life long Detroit Tigers fans here! :)

  1. What a great idea to include the two baseball photos side by side! I am the same way about my weeks - I don't like them at the time but when I look back I realize that they look okay. Definitely more important to "get 'er done" than to worry about aesthetics - lol.

  3. Oh my goodness! I just read your post more carefully and I see that it is your husband and son side by side. I thought it was just your son! Serves me right for skimming!! And I think just getting it done is so important. I think it is also important to have these records to look back on - it really helps remind me of all the amazing things I do have in my life. And like you are deciding to do, you want a different variety of photos. I think there is a lot of value in that for a lot of different reasons. Great post! Sorry I didn't read it at first. I was being hasty!

  4. Love the side by side baseball picture of your husband and son--it almost looks like the same kid! Too cool ;0) I like your pages--nice and clean and not too much fuss.

  7. Thanks for sharing about not liking your pages while you're working on them but being satisfied later. I have that feeling often as well. I think while I'm making them, I want them to look like the pages of my PL heroes and I get frustrated that I don't have the same eye or creative skills. But then when I'm looking back I have a sense of, "Wow, I made that?!" and it's so exciting to see what I have managed to accomplish. Very cute pages this week. Fun colors, the rainbow tongue depressers go so well with the striped journal cards. I know what you mean about trying for more variety in your pictures - I love albums that include a lot of "everyday" stuff - toothbrushes, library books, etc. - but I see people I love almost every day and I will almost always choose to prioritize pics of people over stuff. It's pretty amazing that you have those pics of father and son wearing the same uniform - they look so alike!

  8. Great layouts! I LOVE the baseball pictures of father and son. We have a set of 3 pictures of father, son and grandson all sitting on ponies at the same age. It's such a fun thing to have and even better that it wasn't planned.
