Week in the Life | MONDAY

Brian was up before us and off to work without me even noticing.

At 7:30am, I wake up but stay in bed trying to find motivation to get up. I finally get up and decide to take a shower before the kids wake up. But the two little ones who moved into our bed last night (Violet at about 2am and Hunter at about 4am) wake up as soon as I move my warm body away from them. They love to cuddle which I love and hate at the same time. I know this time will pass and they won't want to cuddle with me anymore but I love my sleep too. Here is what the kids looked like when they woke up.

While I took a shower, Little Einsteins entertained the kids.

After my shower we moved into Hunter's room so the kids could play and I could do my make-up. (8:30am)

While the kids played in Hunter's room, I got my favorite quote from the day. Hunter was playing with his beloved Disney Cars toys and Violet was trying to join in he fun. Here is our conversation...
Hunter - "Mommy can you please just take Vi-Vi (his nick-name for Violet) out of here."
Me - "She just wants to play with you."
Hunter - "But what if she blows up one of the cars engines and it spins out and it wasn't suppose to?!"

And Violet love to play with my make-up bag and help me put it on.

(9:00am) Next we moved downstairs to eat breakfast. Hunter had a leftover Cinnamon roll from Sunday and a bowl of cereal. I had my usual eggo and cereal and Violet had some sliced cheese. She is such a picky eater and this sliced cheese is a new love for her. Here are the kids at the kitchen table waiting for their food.

I also had to make another annoying phone call to Bank of America, started some laundry, and surfed the web, Facebook, Twitter, & Ali Edwards site.

(10:00am) After breakfast the kids played around the house. Hunter played his new Cars 2 Wii game. He is actually really good, I can't believe how many time he takes first place. He lets me know too. He makes me read the names of every car that placed and what place they got.

Violet loves to run circles around the house, usually Hunter too, but he was busy with his game at the time.

While Violet and I were relaxing on the couch waiting for my laundry to dry, she found a pen and wrote all over her leg. This happened in a matter of a minute or two and she was sitting right next to me, I didn't even see what she was doing.

We got Violet cleaned up and everyone dressed and headed out the door around 11:30am. On our way to buy Hunter's uniforms I decided to stop and take the kids to lunch at Peter Piper Pizza. Hunter loves it there and I don't mind the lunch buffet. Salad and pizza.

Violet slept through lunch. After we ate, we headed to Wyndam. This is where the uniform store was set up for the school.

(1:00pm) Hunter tried on his uniforms and cooperated with me well. Violet on the other hand, woke up and wanted to run wild around the store. Hunter looked adorable in the uniform polos and slacks. On chapel day he has to wear a white oxford shirt and tie. I let him pick between the navy and plaid. He chose the plaid and exclaimed, "This is my first tie! This is my first tie!" Even told the lady helping us that it was his first tie. It's a clip on and he was intrigued with how to put it on. Although, once he had his slacks, shirt, and tie on I could tell he was a little uncomfortable. He is not use to tucking in his shirt or having it buttoned tight around his neck. The rebellious 'teenager' side of me wants to say how stupid it is that he has to wear a tie and tuck in his shirt, but the mom in me says it will be good for him to do something he doesn't want to and it will build character in him. Oh how time and parenting changes things! Those uniforms were expensive. I'm use to buying everything on sale and it just killed me to pay full price for clothing!

(2:00pm) After getting Hunter's uniforms for school, we headed home, but not before a stop at Starbucks. Mmmmm... love my Iced grande decaf single shot stirred Carmel Macchiato with extra caramel. While driving around a song came on that I may have heard before but didn't remember or listen to the words until today. It was "You loved me anyway" by Sidewalk Prophet. These words really made me think and be thankful for his love for me.

I am the thorn in Your crown
But You love me anyway
I am the sweat from Your brow
But You love me anyway
I am the nail in Your wrist
But You love me anyway
I am Judas’ kiss
But You love me anyway
See now, I am the man who yelled out from the crowd
For Your blood to be spilled on this earth shaking
ground
Yes then, I turned away with a smile on my face
With this sin in my heart tried to bury Your grace
And then alone in the night, I still called out for You
So ashamed of my life, my life, my life
But You love me anyway
Oh, God… how you love me
You love me anyway
It’s like nothing in life that I’ve ever known
You love me anyway
Oh Lord, how You love me

You love me, You love me
You love me, You love me
How You love me
How You love me
How You love me

For the rest of the afternoon, I finished the kids laundry, the kids watched Mickey Mouse, we pulled weeds out front and played out back. We also played some more in Hunter's room.

Brian came home just before 6pm and we headed out to dinner. I had a Buy One Get One free dinner from a place we had never been to - Logan's. There was a 45 minute wait, which we expected because of the promotion. The kids ran around the waiting area playing with the peanuts and Hunter made friends with a little 3 year old girl also waiting. Our waitress wasn't very good, probably one of the worst we've had since moving here. She got Hunter's order wrong and barely ever came to check on us. It was like we were bothering her. The food was pretty good but the restaurant was so similar to another one we already like Texas Roadhouse that I'm not sure we will go back.

We got home around 8pm and let the kids play for a little while before dressing them for bed with high hopes to have them in bed and asleep by 9:30pm. Last quote of the day, Hunter said, "I can't find my bedtime clothes!" I got Hunter in bed about 9pm and started reading to him. We read three books, one of them twice, prayed and I read some Bible to him. After all that he was still awake and Brian brought Violet in to me. He had been trying to get Violet to sleep in her room with no luck. So we switched and Brian took Hunter and I took Violet (she's such a momma's girl).

So at 10pm I went down to watch Bachelorette and Violet fell asleep in my arms. By 11pm, I crawled up to bed and went to sleep, too tired to do anything with my Week in the Life project, it would have to wait until tomorrow.

Gratitude: I am so thankful for two healthy children that love each other and a husband that loves me.

The cameras I used today: Nikon D40, Sony Cybershot DSC - W70, & my iPod

Also used Ali Edwards PDF documents to keep track of daily activities, you can see them here.
