(9:00am) We all head down stairs for breakfast. Hunter has one of his favorite cereals, Fruit Loops, in his special orange bowl with the straw. We only have one and he asks me to clean it every morning if it isn't already clean because he loves that bowl. It's his favorite color and it makes it easy for him to drink the leftover milk. I have my usual and Violet has her favorite graham crackers.
(10:00am) We got out in the backyard to play. It's such a beautiful morning with a cool breeze. I'm not use to this weather, but I'm loving it! It gets hot during the middle of the day (which I'm use to the heat coming from Las Vegas) but it cools off in the evenings and mornings, that I'm not use to but it is wonderful! It makes it easier to take the kids outside and let them play, they love to be outside. Just waiting for our grass to grow now!
(10:30am) After texting Brian to tell him that Violet kept calling for him, he text back and asked if we wanted to meet him for lunch. (Violet was just yelling, "Da Da! Daddy! Da Da!" at the breakfast table like she was convinced he was home and wouldn't answer her.)
(11:00am) Went upstairs to quickly shower and get the kids ready to go so we could meet Brian for lunch.
(11:30am) Left to meet Brian for lunch. Violet fell asleep on the way to Pei Wei. Pei Wei is a family favorite and probably most of all, Hunter's favorite. When I walked in there was a line almost out the door, which is typical for lunch time. I try to avoid the lunch time rush when we eat there, but it's not always an option. Lunch was yummy and it was nice to see Brian during the day. Hunter asked him, "So dad, how is your day going?" Part of why Brian was able to meet us for lunch was because he had to run to Lowe's. Hunter's guess for what he was going there for was "big pipe to go underground" but we found out it was for wood. Unfortunately, Violet slept through the entire lunch and missed seeing daddy. But, it was nice to eat in peace. She always wants to get up and run around now, it's so hard for her to sit still when we eat.
(12:30pm) We said bye to daddy and headed to Albertson's for groceries for dinner. I've been making more home cooked meals since we moved. Both to save money and because it really is easier to eat at home with the age Violet is now. The grocery store trip went well, I got the things I needed quickly without any trouble from the kids. (Violet slept through the grocery shopping also. That always makes things easier too!) I miss the grocery stores at home. I loved Fresh and Easy and I lived so close to several grocery stores I always had plenty of options. Here, my closest choices are Walmart, Target, and farther away is Albertson's. It's very weird for both Brian and I to do grocery shopping at Walmart or Target. The first time I said dinner was from Target, Brian gave me a funny look and I agreed. The food isn't bad at either of them, but as far as meat, poultry and fish goes, I really prefer Albertson's and it's worth the little bit farther drive. Before heading out the door, we grabbed two movies from Redbox. Word World for Hunter and the Adjustment Bureau for me. Not sure I will get to watch it unless I stay up really late after the kids go to bed, hopefully!
(1:20pm) We get home and Violet wakes up as soon as we drive into the garage. And she has a smile on her face! Always a good sign after a nap. We put the groceries away and I let the kids play for a little bit while I tackle the long overdue and overflowing sink of dirty dishes.
(2:00pm) Violet is hungry since she slept through lunch and Hunter is ready for a snack. Hunter has his leftover rice from Pei Wei. Violet eats some cheese and crackers. Then, Hunter, the awesome big brother that he is offers to feed Violet some of her favorite baby food, Gerber Banana Mango. After that the kids watched the movie we picked up from Redbox, Word World. I worked on the computer and did more dishes. Oh yeah, I might have had a little snack too. :) shame. shame.
(3:00pm - 6:00pm) I relaxed on the couch for awhile trying to catch a nap 5 minutes at a time. I folded more clothes and we headed outside to pull more weeds. That didn't last long though because Violet insisted on either throwing rocks or walking over them, which she isn't good at being that she is still so new at walking and keeping her balance. And after 5 minutes of pulling weeds, Hunter is done. So we went back inside and I started prepping for dinner and got the chicken in the oven and the potatoes shortly after.
(6:15pm) Brian came home and we sat out in the backyard and let the kids play for a little bit. Like I said, I can't get over the cool mornings and evenings.

Hunter took this photo too, and told us to make silly faces.
(6:30pm) I finished getting dinner ready and we all sat down to eat. Violet refused to eat the chicken even though she likes chicken. I guess she just wasn't hungry enough. She kept asking for food but wouldn't eat the chicken. Hunter did well and ate his chicken but wanted nothing to do with the green beans, that's nothing new.
Dinner was BBQ chicken, baked potato, and green beans.
(7:00pm) Brian and I made a team effort of getting dishes done. That's unusual, I usually try to guilt him into doing them or taking the kids for a bath. There weren't many dishes though and we were done quickly. While we were doing the dishes, Hunter experimented with my camera and the self-timer function. Then, he took the kids up for their bath :) After a little while I went up and got Violet dressed for bed. Hunter was ready for bed too.
Hunter took this picture with the self-timer.
Hunter took this picture too.
and he took this picture too.
Whenever we are about to start the dishwasher, we go on a hunt of Violet's pacifiers and zippy cups because she leaves them all over the house. This picture was taken by Hunter also. He found a cup!
Hunter took this photo too on the way up to bath time. I know Violet loves bath time but not sure if she was smiling because of bath time or because Hunter was following her. :)
Not sure if Hunter took this or Brian did but it's a cute one!
(8:00pm) We watched 101 Ways to Leave a Game Show. It's a new show and sometimes they do some crazy thing and then sometimes they do some lame things, but it's obviously all about what happens to them when they get a trivia question wrong and have to leave the game show. Anything from being dumped into the ocean attached to an anchor to being shot out of a cannon. Oh well, it doesn't take much to entertain me I guess. I like to laugh.
(9:00pm) Brian got Violet to sleep in her bed. I was so impressed! Usually she won't go to sleep without me. While Brian was putting her to sleep, Hunter snuck downstairs and talked me into getting him some chocolate ice cream he had convinced me to buy earlier at the grocery store.
(9:30pm) Brian went out back to listen to the thunder and watch the lightning, we also finally got some rain. We were beginning to think 'monsoon season' isn't real. I started uploading all of my pictures from today. Then, Violet woke up screaming, so back upstairs to get her. It was cute when I picked her up Hunter said to her, "I'm sorry that you woke up baby. I guess we were being a little too loud. I love you.
(11:00pm) Here we are at 11pm now and Violet is still awake. I've been working on this blog post and Hunter is in bed watching Word World again. At least the show is educational! I do like that each animal and object is in shapes spelled out in the letters that makes its name. I guess it's easier to see then to explain.
(11:30pm) Finally the kids are asleep in their beds and this blog post is done, just have to add the pictures. This could be the long part.
Just a side note: Hunter joined in on the picture taking and so some of the photos are ones he took. It actually allowed me to be in some of the pictures and added a fun twist to the photos too.
Observation: We eat more junk food then I realized. We (Brian & I) keep saying we want to lose weight and he keeps telling me it's the way we eat but I guess I didn't want to believe him. I need to get the kids healthier snacks.
