Week in the Life | THURSDAY

Ok, sorry but for the sake of time and lack of energy, I will be doing less words and more pictures today...

This is Hunter coming down for breakfast.

This is Violet eating cheese for breakfast, no surprise there.

Here is Hunter finding out he got a box from Grandma 'Airplane'. She usually sends one a week and it's a huge highlight!

He can't wait to get into that box! Even Violet gets excited now.

I forgot to take a picture of the special toy Hunter got because he couldn't wait to get it open and start playing with it, but this book just cracked me up!

While the kids were occupied with their new toys, I spent a little time on the computer. I have a Mac and I downloaded the new Lion software. It's pretty nice and there all all kinds of new things you can do with the trackpad now, but I've been using this little mouse that was given to me by a friend and I LOVE it! With the new software it's amazing what it does now!

This is just Violet wanting my attention, like usual.

Today I wanted to clean, since my mom is coming into town tonight, and I laughed this morning when I saw this post on Facebook...

So here is what happened when I started cleaning...

Hunter wanted to help!

Turned on some music.

Violet wasn't too happy about being stuck on the couch while I cleaned the floor. (Hunter took this picture.)

Hunter took this picture too. (I hate dog hair! And I hate cleaning it! My dog use to be my baby before I had kids, but now she is just an animal I have to clean up after on top of the kids and my husband. She is a great dog though, so sweet with the kids.)

Hunter took this one too.

Hunter took this one too, and I love it! I think it is a great picture!

Then we started mopping.

Violet had to go in the pack n play and she was really mad then!

I'm thinking I should probably clean all this up too.

I'm so lazy and often leave the vacuum out after I clean, but I didn't today, I put it away when I was finished!

Then it was time for lunch. Bertolli again. The kids didn't like this one as much as yesterdays. Just a side note. I love purple. I love my purple dishes and this Starbucks mug. I love the pattern on this and the colors.

Then the kids just confirmed the truth in that saying about cleaning with kids around because not 2 hours after I mopped the floor, Hunter had a bucket of cars and his race track out on the clean floor. Cleaning is pointless.

By this time Violet was so cranky and just wanted to take a nap.

She brought me her shoes, hint hint mom!

Ready to go. She is so heavy in this thing, but she always falls asleep and then I don't want to wake her up, so this makes it easy to move her around and still let her sleep.
We started driving, and she was asleep probably before I was even out of the driveway. I wasn't even really sure where we were going.
I gave into the temptation and got some Taco Cabana. I love their Ranch Salsa.
Hunter took this of Violet sleeping in the car.
Later we had a healthy snack.

His favorite part was the grapes.
While Violet slept, Hunter and I went upstairs to play.

The race! He loves to make his cars race and usually mimic the movie.

We made a cute little town.
When Violet woke up she has some of our fruit snack. She mostly just chewed the fruit and then spit them out. Not sure why she does this.
And again, my clean floor covered in the fruit she spit out.
While she had her snack, I dreamed about going on a vacation.
I make a photo book every year and each page is a week. I like to open it up every now and then and see what we were doing at the same time a year ago.
Brian got home and we had dinner.

This is the chicken I made. It's a family favorite.
After dinner, Hunter helped me empty the trash and clean the bathrooms. We are so excited about Grandma coming! She will be here soon!
Hunter is talking to Grandma and he is going to help me make cookies.

Mmmm... peanut butter cookies.
Grandma got on iChat to see the kids while she was at the airport.

They are so excited to see her.
Grandma gets into town at midnight and Hunter wanted to go to the airport with me to get her. He tried so hard to stay awake and even tried to talk me into leaving early just so he could make it into the car before falling asleep.

He couldn't stay awake. :)

When we got home, my mom and I talked for awhile before heading to bed. Soon after Violet woke up and my mom wanted to play with her. So for about an hour at 1am Grandma and Violet played. She was actually in a good mood for the middle of the night and a little confused why they were playing in the middle of the night. Then we all headed to bed. So glad mom is here.

  1. For a post with "Less words, more photos" you told a great story! Such a beautiful, typical look into life with young children. Loved it! And your photos really captured your realIty. My faves are the ones focused in on the cars that exited the race track. Excellent composition! And your son's photo are amazing! We can learn so much about seeing the world when we look from a child's perspective. Super job! Now wishing you some soul refreshment while Mom is in town.
